Extrusion pushes heated aluminium billet through a shaped die, producing a continuous profile with that exact cross-section. Because the die controls the shape, aluminium can be formed into sections that would be expensive or impossible to fabricate from sheet — hollow tubes, ribbed channels, complex architectural profiles.
Kumar Aluminium stocks eleven standard profiles across three structural alloys, sourced from Jindal, Hindalco, Ramco and commercial mills. Between them they cover framing, fabrication, architectural and machined component work.
Eleven standard shapes, covering solid sections, hollow sections and open structural profiles.
| PROFILE | TYPICAL USE |
|---|---|
| Flat bars | Brackets, straps, machined parts, base flats, trim |
| Round rods | Shafts, pins, spacers, turned components |
| Square bars | Machined blocks, keys, frame nodes |
| Hexagonal bars | Fasteners, spacers, turned hex components |
| PROFILE | TYPICAL USE |
|---|---|
| Round tubes | Railings, frames, rollers, conduit, structural columns |
| Square tubes | Framing, display stands, partitions, light structures |
| Rectangle tubes | Frames, beams, door and window sections |
| Fluted round tubes | Decorative railings, architectural columns, handrails |
| PROFILE | TYPICAL USE |
|---|---|
| Channels | Edge trims, glazing channels, framing runs, guides |
| Tees | Support ribs, partition joints, ceiling grids |
| Angles | Corner trims, brackets, frame corners, edge protection |
All three stocked alloys are 6000-series heat-treatable grades supplied in T6 temper — solution heat treated and artificially aged to peak strength.

Extrusion is the process of pushing heated aluminium billet through a shaped die to produce a continuous profile with that cross-section. It is how bars, tubes, channels, angles and custom architectural sections are made.
6063-T6 is the architectural and general-purpose alloy — good surface finish and takes anodising well. 6061-T6 is the structural and machining choice. 6082-T6 is the strongest of the three and is specified for heavy structural work.
T6 means the extrusion has been solution heat treated and then artificially aged to reach peak strength. It is the standard supply condition for structural aluminium sections.
Eleven standard profiles: flat bars, round rods, square bars, hexagonal bars, round tubes, rectangle tubes, square tubes, fluted round tubes, channels, tees and angles.
Yes. 6063 in particular anodises to a clean, even finish, which is why it dominates architectural work. All three alloys accept powder coating. Tell us the intended finish with your enquiry.
Our stock covers standard profiles. For a custom die profile, send the section drawing and we will confirm what can be sourced against your quantity and lead time.
Section sizes and stock lengths are confirmed against current stock. Send the profile and finished length you need and we will confirm availability with the quotation.
